Government Procurement

Inner Budget Agencies - Goods And Services

The Tasmanian Government is committed to maximising local content in its procurement process by giving Tasmanian companies fair and equal opportunity to tender for Government contracts.
Under the Government Procurement Guidelines for goods and services, inner budget Government Department purchases valued at $100,000 or over (excluding GST) must go to public tender, unless an exemption has been granted.   It is also mandatory that Government Departments notify the Industry Capability Network in Tasmania prior to tenders being announced.  For purchases at more than $10,000 and less than $100,000 (excluding GST), three written quotes must be sought and one of them must be from a Tasmanian company, unless an exemption has been granted.  If a Department cannot find a Tasmanian company to quote they can contact the ICN for assistance.
