Those who are leaving or have left the forestry industry in particular are encouraged to register here giving details pertaining to the plant, equipment and operators they have available that may be of value for dam building. Hydro Tasmania is seeking Proposals for distribution system support services on the Bass Strait Islands (King and Flinders Islands).
The aim of Industry Capability Network (ICN) in Tasmania is to promote Tasmanian, Australian and New Zealand industry through import replacement and opportunities for participation in major projects, government procurement and commercial developments.
ICN performs a technical role providing purchasers with a free service to identify Australian and New Zealand manufacturers capable of supplying those items that would otherwise be imported.

Tasmania was selected to lead this national initiative because of the extensive work already undertaken in developing and testing the concept of fibre-to-the-premises.
A panel of contractors has established to build the initial $38 million rollout of the NBN. This portal is to identify additional local companies that can assist with the Tasmanian build phase.
At this stage only companies that can provide specific capabilities should register for the project. Please do not register here if your company is a seller or reseller of consumables or equipment. Another portal may be established for Australian/NZ made equipment for the project in the future.

In May 2009, the Australia Government allocated $120 million for a new ocean - going research vessel to replace the present CSIRO Marine national Facility Research Vessel Southern Surveyor. Hydro Tasmania is seeking Proposals for distribution system support services on the Bass Strait Islands (King and Flinders Islands).
Hydro Tasmania is looking to define the BSI distribution system asset management and maintenance services. It is proposed that a suitably qualified and experienced company be selected to partner with Hydro Tasmania to advise on and recommend the appropriate support and equipment for these services and to assist with developing the best commercial model for the delivery of the activities required (Development Phase).
Hydro Tasmania intends to select the Development Phase partner by considering proposals from companies that are capable and interested in providing the longer term distribution system support services for the BSI (DSS Services). It is proposed that the DSS Services be provided over an initial two year contract period with options to extend and include the provision of distribution system support services and transmission maintenance activities, as well as the supply of equipment and general construction services relating to Hydro Tasmania infrastructure.
